Looking for organizing tips for crafting supplies!

I keep as many items as possible in clear containers. It may look a little less neat to be able to see anything but it's very organized. And every container has a label that I make out of chalkboard tape. Then I can see exactly when a container empties, before I go to Michaels I can look over and see which container's are empty and put that supply list

I go to the dollar store and buy their clear shoe boxes and then I label each box with the contents of each one. They stack nicely and I can see at a glance which box I need. Plus they keep bugs out of your supplies.

I recently bought 2 of the sterlite 3 drawer units. I also have some supplies divided by group and stored in large cloth shopping bags that I found on sale. I also have an old bookcase that has items in boxes on each shelf with labels. I have jewelry, knitting, some material, so I don't have too far to look for something.

I also use 2 sterlite multi-drawer units to store my jewelry making supplies. I keep them in a small pantry closet in my kitchen. I have 3 antique wardrobes in the living room, with shelves to store my craft supplies....some things are open within the doors of the wardrobes....also, I have some clear lidded small plastic containers [labelled appropriately] which slide in to the "shelves" of a fabric organizer [ie. the ones that you can buy at Ikea....the organizer fastens over the rod inside one of the wardrobes]. For my knitting needles, crochet hooks and watercolour pencils, I have a store them on my end table in milk glass vases of different sizes. My yarn is in one of the wardrobes in big heavy duty shopping bags....[not the best solution, but I only have the space in my living room for storing crafts. Oh, and my card making supplies are in pretty boxes, and labeled, stored beneath an end table. I also keep a few of my smaller items for jewelry making in a hanging jewelry organizer with clear pockets....everything is visible and easy to get at, without having to disturb other things....

I also use clear shoe boxes, I had lots of ribbon which is now colour coordinated into these. I also use shoe hanging organisers. Ideal for putting in pens, rulers etc.

I built a cabinet sized to fit cardboard photo boxes (like the ones sold at Michaels crafts). I labeled each one so I can easily see what's inside. I prefer solid side instead of see-through containers because they look less cluttery. I have some plastic 3-drawer cabinets above the photo boxes to fit other things.

Across my craft room window, I hung a strip of wood. From that, I have metal bins hanging down to house pencils, pens, and various tools I use every day. My desk space is in front of the window, so I can reach into the metal bins to retrive what I need and then put it back with little effort, keeping things neat.

Behind the door to my bedroom, I use the wall to hold my quilting tools. All those flat odd shaped plastic rulers, and templates are hung with push pins. Including my cutting mats. It's lost space or a shoe collecter spot. And I know exactly where the stuff is and what I have for tools.

Dollar stores are great to get started but have you thought of Harbor freight stores.. They have divider containers all different sizes a lot cheaper than Michaels or other craft stores. Also in the fishing department there are these containers for hooks. Plano boxes come in all types. Since I am not sure of what all you have I would look at these places to see what fits. I like the Plano tackle boxes because I go to friends house where we craft together this makes it easy.
