See How We Turned an Ugly Buffet Into an Elegant Wine Bar

This ugly yellowed buffet needed an update in a bad way!
We started this project by removing the doors, the hardware and scrubbing the piece with TSP substitute.
In order to get the rich red wine look that I wanted, we painted the entire thing with a dark brown chalk paint.
After letting the brown paint dry we painted the buffet with 2 coats of the rich red wine color. We finished the entire piece with wipe on polyurethane.
I found this wooden wine rack at a garage sale last summer and had it in my project stash. We spray painted it with a couple of coats of spray paint.
After the spray paint was dry, we painted it with the same rich red wine paint as the buffet.
I wanted to add some bling and pizazz to the plain wine rack. I looked at scrap book flair to find these cute metal tags. When we couldn't find the right nails we ended up using nails from picture hanging kits.
We put the wine rack together inside the cabinet to get the perfect fit. It looks like it was here all along.
