In my neighborhood we have our holiday lights up to turn on the first time on the evening of Thanksgiving. I started putting up the rest of the decor after the holiday weekend. For me, I store that stuff in the garage for 11 months out of the year. I like to have it up as much of December as I can. After January 1 I start boxing the stuff up again. Just depends on what makes YOU happy and what you may have time for. As I see it there are no rules. Just enjoy any time you have with your family and friends. That should be first and foremost, not all the commercial hype.
No decorations at all this year. Been sick since end of November. Thankfully I already made most of the gifts I'm giving. Shopping is finished. Nothing wrapped.
Nope, we think we'll pass this year. (again)
To decorate or not is totally up to you. I have only put up some small decorations in the kitchen and the bedroom with one wreath on the front door. I have enough to put up decorations everywhere but I hurt my knee so this is all I can do. I ordered every child some books and the adults will receive a handmade family Christmas ornament. The kids want to do their own things but at least there will be something from me around the tree. My hubs and I exchange gifts--but I order those online too. Do we celebrate? YES! Snacks in the living room Christmas Eve and a fancy dinner cooked by hubs followed by opening the presents Christmas Day. Am I excited--YES because I get what I want! I have plenty of cookies if anyone wants to come by. I refuse to feel sorry for myself!!
No.......and now with just a week away, I don't think they will go up this year! Where does time go!!!
Nope, it came too early this year. Down from the attic tomorrow.
it usually takes me a good week to put it all up, and a couple of weeks into Jan.
merry Christmas! Lynne
