How can I repurpose silverware?

Wind chimes, plant markers, dragonflies.

Put some beads on wire and wind them onto your serving pieces to give them a fun look. You can even pick beads that complement your dishes.

make a coffee table out of them stick them to board flatten them so they all pretty much same thickness put edging around them plaster of paris between them and you have your new coffee table. Making butterfly's and dragon flies is easy also you will find instructions on google and maybe even on hometalk I have seen them on several occasions when looking at easy to make garden ornaments

Flatten them out and make wind chimes. They sound great clanging against each other

Hmmm.... thanks for bringing this up, Jennie. I have an extra set of silver too. Has anyone tried gluing them in a circle somehow around a mirror or maybe a clock?

I saw a great idea on pinterest for in the kitchen. Get a canvas picture frame or thin piece of wood and frame, paint the silverware your choice of color, and then use a glue gun to glue the silverware to the canvas/wood frame. Hang in kitchen.

Great to mount to a wall and use to hang jewelry, or kitchen towels, etc. and to make rings and bracelets out of them.

Spoons can be pounded out and bent in half. Handle half screwed to a board and spoon part is flat to hold an electric candle. You can dress up at the bend with ribbon and floral buds. Several attached tossme board makes a pretty wall decor.

I have seen beautiful wind chimes made out of silverware, as well as drawer pulls and cabinet pulls. You can shape and make them into jewelry, rings, braclets and parts of them into necklaces.

all good ideas...You could also make a kitchen/dining chandelier...Alternatively you could donate them to a school or soup kitchens. They can always use extras.

Wind chimes. Place plant markers/identifiers in fork tines and stick in ground. Let kids (not too young) use to play in dirt. The little plastic shovels just don't hold up to rough kid play. Use yourself when transplanting from pots to the garden...use a knife to loosen dirt around the sides of pot then use a spoon to lift out.

Bracelets are cool too AND You can sell them.

Sculptures, use an arc welder and have fun with them.

my mother in law had a friend of hers make me an angel pin out of a silverware handle ! I love wearing it ! I get compliments on it .

You can add them to a decorative piece of wood and use them as a towel rack in your kitchen, or if the wood is sturdy enough use them in your entry way to hand coats. Have fun. I am sure there are many ways of using silverware.

If the ole Handle has 2 holes. So drill 2 holes and use the ole screws but add a nut if needed. For spacers if needed. Hobby Lobby sells these tiny wooden dowels in a bag. Paint them silver. You need room for fingers to grab the handles. Let me know if you get stuck, can send pic of wooden dowels and more brainstorming. I used those same dowels on my 18x18 ceramic tile as a giant trivet....👍👍👍works great!

Thanks Lucy. My cabinets have no handles at all but your idea will work. I love Hobby Lobby and am sure I will get more than just the dowels!
