Do you want to cover all three of the windows?

Roman Blinds would work very well on the bottom two and then possibly a draped valance on the top window.

I would use blinds instead.

I would use a textured woven wooden blind hung on the inside casing and definitely "hang" the sail boat on a straight level plane. Actually I would put a narrow shelf in between those windows to display and "anchor" that very cool sailboat. Do not embellish the top clearstory window.

I would glass paint the top window to flood room with colour. Add one curtain and rod to each lower window, to hang open at corners and to be drawn towards the centre at night. Use fabric to compliment painted window. I would hang a mirror where the yacht is Unless it is to be kept.

Curtains; Simple and sheer on a simple small rod, nothing big or heavy for modern windows. patterns will also get tired quickly. Or go to blinds.com for great prices and product.

The scale of that beautiful boat might be a bit big for that space????

I would put lace in the two bottom and set pretty bottles either painted colors or filled with colored water in the top one. No need for privacy in that one so why not create your own rainbow?

With not having much of a window frame on the lower windows, you're going to have to put whatever hooks you use above the window. I would suggest smaller hooks so you don't take away too much of the framing for the upper window. I would leave the upper window without a curtain so that you have more light in the room. I had two ideas for these windows. Depending on the rest of the room decor, you could 1) go with two darker gray, sheer curtains in each window. Let them hang down almost to the floor. They can be pushed open during the day and closed at night. 2) Go with one darker gray, heavier, more drape like curtain in each window. This can be tied back to one side at the bottom during the day and closed at night. Would love to see what you decide on.

I use tension rods in my kitchen bay windows and light weight curtains.

Since you seem to be going for a nautical theme: Top to bottom: Above the clearystory window (the thin one at the very top), use a wooden pole, spirally wrapped in 'yacht size' rope, and cap the ends with a large brass knob. Do not cover this window. The rod at the top is just to 'coordinate' it and make the entire window wall a 'unit'.

Use a similar, but slightly small diameter pole as a curtain rod, for each window. Get a 'canvas-like' off-white fabric and cut it to be about 1-1/2 to 2 times the width of the window. Sew a rod pocket in the top, and plain hems on the sides and bottom. Make attractive knots: hot glue them together, then hot glue velcro on the rod end and knot, so they can be removed when you remove the curtain to wash.

You can make the curtains as long as you wish - Google for the best length if you don't go full-length. If you choose a more dramatic floor length, use the same 'canvas' fabric to cover the wall between the windows and the wall UNDER the windows - to the floor, for a uniform look to the entire wall.

When you hang the curtains, hang the top on the entire length of the rod, then pull back the curtain (to the left on the left window, to the right on the right window), and hold it with a loop of rope ( tacked to the wall behind the edge of the curtain so it doesn't show). A brass 'dangle' of some sort would be interested to hang here, to tie in with the brass knobs on the top window rod. You could also attach round brass 'shower curtain' rings to the top of the curtain, then be able to slide them open or closed.

To make the ship stand out and be a bit more dramatic, you might want to place a rectangle of similar texture fabric - in a dark color - either a 'neutral' like dk brown, black, dk taupe, mushroom - or a 'pop' of color that you use in the rest of the room - behind the ship - but still showing 2-3" (or more) of the off'white canvas wall cover. I hope you like the idea.

I love the way your ship is sailing the high seas! So much more imaginative than a straight line! I would leave the top window alone, and maybe use drop cloths as curtains.

I would recommend Roman shades using a neutral fabric. They can be lowered for privacy and raised for sunshine. You can utilize a fabric with either texture or a simple nautical print. I would leave the upper windows bare but use plants as a "screen". If you've never made Roman shades ( which seem daunting) view several YouTube articles on making them. They're not very hard.

How about white shutters, outside install, which means 4 sided frame. You control light

and privacy, and shutters do not take up much space. They are easy to clean. On the glass above, it is easy to find a film with the picture of the ocean, vitreaux design, etc. The boat seems somehow out of place, by size and color and perhaps subject. Not showing the rest of the room, it it is hard to give more suggestions. Enjoy your project,

Country Curtains sells some cream or white, semi-sheer cafe curtains with embroidered nautical (starfish, shells) motifs that would match the existing nautical. Use a tension rod to hold them in place.

I would cover the transom window with "frosted glass" transfer.

I'd stay away from cutesy theme stuff. The sailboat is enough.

I'm wondering if you could hang a drapery rod so you'd have one set of drapes for the entire width of the windows. You don't appear to have a lot of area to attach window hardware.

Hope that isn't the East side of the house. That transom window would drive me nuts if the sun was coming in at 5am.

BURLAP - Take the curtain rod & fold the end of the curtain over it & hot glue it down. Hang the rod & hot glue the ties on. No need to hem anything - the rustic look to match the ship on the wall. (Wash COLD water & AIR dry in dryer because of the hot glue OR sew over the rod & wash NORMAL cycle). :)

Look on the diy site under window blinds. There is one project that will look great in this room and best part you can select any type material and pattern you want. As for the top window. Cover it with bubble wrap for heat efficiency and can water paint the bubbles. Can add a few hanging fish up there too like a mobile.

I would leave the top of the window open, it looks like you have a small ledge, perhaps find some 3 - 4 pieces of nautical items to add to the theme. I would repaint the walls a lite blue and add navy drapes with a nautical theme. Or, make drapes out of a shower curtain.

I would do a whole wall curtain. It would mean rehanging boat somewhere else but it would look nicer. Start at the very top (above the Long window). Nothing heavy looking...

You don't say if you want curtains to block light, privacy or just prettiness. If you are thinking just a sheer cover, I would use a plain sheer and a tension rod inside the window frame. Hem sheer to the inside height of window. You could also tension rod the upper window in the same fasion. If you can't find a tension rod to fit upper then hang the rod from cup hooks. The windows are so pretty I think a plain sheer is better than patterned. If you want darkness or privacy, I would roman blind or better yet shutters inside the window frame.

A Roman curtain would look nice also !

I would love to see more of the room....like what is on the adjacent wall and the opposite wall. I'd also like to see what the view is. Close neighbors or wooded lot? My first thought was one set of drapes or sheer curtains to cover both windows (and relocate that ship to another wall). Covering the entire wall, including the fixed window would work as well. I enjoy early sunlight streaming in so I prefer light covering or no covering on the long window. Whatever you decide on, I think that window wall has lots of character and potential! Have fun.

Lowe's sells Painters cloths that have finished seams/ edges.& are long in length.a beige nubby thread muslin like but heavy. Lend a nautical or even barn/ country feel a natural look to those windows.

I vote for a long bronze-color rod the length of the wall. I would hang under the long window, but I don't know if that brings in annoying light. Inexpensive faux-linen rod-pocket drapes full length. A single pair, one at either end, could be sufficient for privacy when you need it. White or off-white.

Short curtains will just make the whole wall look choppy, or cluttered

First who's room is this? It looks like an adult bedspread. Is it a bedroom? Yes we've stayed up late watching movies and I tend to get cold and my husband falls asleep and we have been known to take bedspread into family room. What's the purpose, light, noise,privacy. You want to hang them up and that's good enough some people like them some don't but have to for a reason. You didn't specify if it's how to incorporate the top one with the bottom 2 or just top or just bottom 2. If it's just the bottom 2 you will have to place brackets on the wall on either side of window. I can see that the one on the right has no wall so then you need to cut a piece of wood just to the size of the bracket and paint it the color of the wall attach to wall then put up bracket so that both sides are the same distance from the walls. Do the same on other window regardless of whether you have wall space on either side so that you have a cohesive look. If you want to just do the top or coordinate it with other drapes it looks like you will have to have a dowl (?) I may have misspelled it sorry,but you know the round piece of wood the length of that window then attach the holders one puts up in a closet to hang a rod for clothes.depending on how heavy valance is you can probably get away without having to use a bracket in center. It would actually have to be a hook that will screw into wall then have a hook on the end but then that will mean two pieces of fabric not one if that matters to you. You can make it yourself whether you sew or not just use that stuff you iron on that closes up but it will need to be precise so it may feel like your back is going to break from pinning it that length so that you can then iron. I would find a seamstress. It won't come cheap to do the top and you will be buying a lengthy amount that you will not use all of but that appears like a large length. If you want it tuft then you can do the same hook up on walls. Or if it's just for the top use something sturdy that length from the insulation area of a store it will like like Styrofoam. Measure very accurate and then wrap fabric around and use velcro strip to hold fabric in place. Now 2 people 2 ladders carefully place it snuggly in that area to cover top window and not have to make any holes. And now you know that you can change it out just be careful and change fabric. Please don't forget to wash fabric before you use it so that it will already shrink then iron then wrap like a gift while on the floor. So I didn't mean any offense with my questions but now do you see why we needed more information from you? Good luck and hope that it is clear and can be of help. Almost any store that can sell you the wooden rod will cut it for a minimal few take holders in so that you can make sure not to purchase a rod that is too large or very small.
