How thick are the dowels? Dowels are great to keep around for projects as they come up.

this seems like an excellent gift for someone who likes puzzles.

If you are a gardener then you could make markers for your plants. Plant them , slip empty fancy shaped bottles over each dowel for an interesting flower garden border. Paint them a certain color like gold or silver then create a statement you hang on the wall with a small mirror in the center.

How about if you drill holes either end on all the dowels then use a good strong thread and thread through the dowels so you are making like a table mat for the center of your table.... then when you are not using it just roll it up and put it away....

Use old baubles and dowels together. These will make new decorations for next christmas. Take off the bauble top make hole to fit dowel, stick with pva glue.
