Here’s how to make a gold concrete candle holder. It’s perfect for the holiday season and will look great on your table along with your decor! Best of all… it's super cheap.
Add concrete to the bucket. I put about 4 to 5 scoops in.
Add water and mix. Don’t put too much in there at first!
You’re just going to mix, then add more concrete, then more water and just build from there. You want a peanut butter consistency.
Next, you want to coat the tray with cooking spray.
After you spray, you want to make sure to get it in the corners by using a paper towel or your fingers. Doesn’t matter!
Pour the concrete into the tray. You don’t have to fill it all the way to the brim. Just make sure it’s at least 3/4 of the way.
Next, evenly distribute the concrete.
Add the tea candle holders. Press down until it’s even with the top part of the concrete. Use your fingers to smooth and distribute the concrete as necessary. This is the fun part!
Once it’s dry, it’s time to remove the concrete. So first you’re going to tug the sides, then turn it over and ever so gently, press the concrete out.

Then you’re ready to sand the surface. I focused on the edges because I liked the texture that’s on the face of it.
Wipe away any loose concrete, and start to paint! I used a liquid leaf called classic gold and painted the face and the sides of it.
Be sure to paint the glass. You’ll probably need to add two coats.
Then, you’re all finished and it’s ready to go! You can do two candle holders or one that can hold four. The possibilities are endless.
