Faux Four-Post Bed
- (3) 1/2" PVC pipes (I would normally purchase 8' pipes but my Home Depot only had 10' so that's what I went with.)
- (2) 1/2" PVC elbows (My original thought was to have 4 sides, thus, I needed 4 pipes and 4 elbows; however, Rob advised that I should just do 3 sides, therefore only needing 3 pipes and 2 elbows.)
- 3/4" conduit clamps (I only needed 7 but it was cheaper to get a contractor's bag of 20.)
- Burnished Amber spray paint (I wanted the pipes to look like legit pipes so I chose this finish.)
- rough grit sandpaper
- Measuring tape
- Miter saw (you can have HD or Lowe's cut the pipes for you if you don't have a miter saw)
- (4) 2-packs of 108" x 84" white curtain panels
- pencil

If anyone wants to recreate this look for themselves, make sure your curtain panels go to the floor.

On the panels, stores usually carry 84”, to make longer attach fabric to the bottom of drape to reach floor, ikea has true 96” panels that are wonderful for this project.

Why don’t you take the hems down on the curtains and add a decorative fabric or buy another pair of the same curtains and add more length. If you’re not a sewer you can use the iron on adhesive like “stitch Witchery”

I did this many, many years ago but used 1" pipe on all four sides. I hung the pipe with 4 looped gold chains about16" from the ceiling. If I remember correctly, I only needed to hang two chains on the side pipes by using lightweight lace curtains. I used pretty white hooks to hold up the chain. I also didn't paint the pipes - I used valances between the long curtains at corners. Got so many compliments and still have the curtains, so I may do it again. My problem is being 79 yrs. and having to have someone help me. Do love your project for reminding me of mine. Thanks.

Nice! I do get that the panels don't go to the floor, but if you have access to a sewing machine, it's all hems.....
