Mason Jar Lid & Chicken Wire Christmas Ornaments

I’ve had this ornament project on the back burner for a while now. I was thinking about holding off on it until next year, but I wanted to get it out to you before some other blogger did it first so you could make some for this year!
Supplies:

Mason jar lids

Chicken wire (any chicken wire will work, but I used Darice Galvanized Chicken Wire Net for Craftwork because the “holes” are smaller and it is easier to work with than regular chicken wire)

Jute twine

Small pair of wire cutters

Scissors

Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Paper

Ink Pen

Decorating materials (baker’s twine, small pine cones, pine leaves, small ornaments, buttons, etc.)
1, Trace a circle along the outside of the mason jar lid.

2. Flatten out the chicken wire, place on top of the circle, and cut the chicken wire along the inside of the circle.
3. Press the chicken wire into the mason jar lids and adjust by clipping and/or bending it to fit.

4. Braid 3 pieces of jute twine together and glue onto the inside edge of the lid. You can also use a thicker piece of jute twine, ribbon, faux string of pearls, beads, etc.

5. Tie some jute twine in a loop and glue on the top of the mason jar lid. You can also use ribbon, baker’s twine, pearls, yarn, etc. I glued a button on top of where I glued the twine on the lid to give it a more finished look.
Decorate them in whatever ways strike your fancy! :)
