Grubby Button Christmas Tree Project

I used styrofoam cones, "grubby buttons" and pins to make two alternative Christmas trees. Since I didn't want to use glue or large head pins, I pushed the pins in on the diagonal so the buttons would not slip off. All the details on my blog.
The trees have a tin star on top and vintage individual jello mold rings under them.
I call metal or wood buttons with most of the paint chipped off "grubby buttons".
A close up of my diagonal pinning.

Go to Heartstrings Sisters on facebook and check out the snowmen I made from antique buttons, I think I will make a couple of trees to sit next to my snowmen. Thanks for sharing.
