When we moved into our rental I could not get over how BLAH all of the rooms were. everything is beige and there really isn't any contrast in the rooms. I decided that for Sloane's nursery I was going to let the neutral color palette work for me.

Most of the items in the room were pieces that I already had. I knew I wanted the dresser to be the statement piece in the room. My mom had found the dresser at a thrift shop and saved it for me to use in in one of my kid's rooms and it doubles perfectly as a dresser and changing table.

I faux painted a budget crib I bought on amazon to give it a "Restoration Hardware" look and the crib skirt was a DIY project.

I used Walls Republic wallpaper called Fawn in large frames to bring some pattern to the room. The bedcrown was another DIY project made with a half circle shelf, Ikea curtains and velvet fabric. The curtains are attached to the shelf and the shelf is anchored into studs for safety.

(You can see the little tinsel tree I used for Christmas decor in the corner)

I used a long curtain rod hung along the top of the whole window wall to hang my curtains on and it creates a great feature wall of curtains adding so much soft flowy texture to the room.

This rocker was the latest edition to the nursery. It was given to me by my bestie who found it at a yard sale. Score!
