DIY Concrete Vases

Everyone has cheap or inexpensive glass vases that are boring, right? Why don't I share with you exactly how you can take those and turn them into modern vases for your home decor with concrete and Americana Decor Color Stain.

Step 1 : Mix your concrete following box instructions.
Step 2 : Fill a plastic container larger than your vase halfway with concrete.
Step 3 : Place your vase in the concrete, secure with duct tape.
Step 4 : Let sit and harden overnight. Remove plastic container.
Step 5 : Paint with Americana Decor Color Stain. For finished photos, head over to our blog and check it out!

Love this idea and plan to create a few for my outdoor living space and display them on the table. They'll look amazing and my friends will think I bought them. Thanks for sharing this DIY project

Yes, I too thought it was going to be a concrete vase and not just the vase holder. It would have been cool to be a concrete planter. Gotta work on that idea. what won't stick to the wet concrete?

Spray thoroughly the outside of the inner mold - if using plastic, like a plastic bowl or plastic cup - with non-stick cooking spray. You can then remove the bowl when the concrete is dry enough. Then let the concrete continue to set for a while, as directions state and a little longer if possible. You might want to weight down the inner mold with a rock or brick or whatever to keep a clean inside shape. :) Fun and useful project.

I think this is a great inspiration for a craft project... this is a possible idea that could develop in so many other decorative items... you could make several in different heights and sizes, and put candles in them... a succulent planter, and on and on...so I really feel this is a great idea, keep up the good ideas...
