Dining Room Light Fixture Makeover

I didn't have much of a budget for my dining room makeover. When it came to buying (and installing) a new light fixture I cringed because I knew it just wasn't in the budget. So here's what I did to change things up:
I’ve been looking for a good “before” picture of this light fixture; and I think this is the best I’ve got (taken mid-way through the Dining Room Makeover).

It’s not a bad light fixture, in fact it’s in good shape. But it’s just NOT my style!

I’m frugal! I’m not an electrician. But I can take things apart...
So, I took off everything that I could. The alabaster bowl, the extra swirls and ring. I REALLY didn’t want to have to buy and new fixture and install it!
So, I did would I could to make this work. [And got some cute Edison Light Bulbs.]

Note: I didn't change anything except remove pieces from this fixture and screw in cute light bulbs (no paint, nothing).
Although this may not be my first choice at a store, it’s it’s a vast improvement from where it was and fits in with my rustic, farmhouse feel much better. AND, IT WAS COMPLETELY FREE!
