Turn a curbside freebie into a fun statement piece!!

Curbside chairs are a dime a dozen, aren't they? Since New York winters force me to paint indoors, I decided to have some fun with color and make a cute statement piece to brighten up my office.

I really didn't take an abundance of photos during this project, because.. well? It's justa chair, right? I used a sponge pouncer for the polka dots.

I wanted the dots to POP a little, so with the tiniest of paintbrushes, I outlined the dots. I decided to stick with Bright, jewel-tones for this one. I find that mixing multi colors can pull together if you stay in the same family. The next one will be pastels.

I used a metallic silver to highlight the dots.

Here it is in all of its Fun, Funky glory. I'll show you some more views...the Emerald Green has some gold sparkle mixed in but it's hard to see in the photo. It pulls the gold accents together for me...plus it's really tough for me to go without sparkles and metallics!

The checkerboard was easier than it looks. I used a paint stirrer and made lines right onto the paint. A ballpoint pen on chalk type paint is easy peasy.
