Spring Mantel Decor

Tired of the winter darkness and the plainness of the house after all Xmas decorations taken down, decided to think spring.
This is a mantel decoration that has seen many transformation over time. This picture is from when it was in it's fall regalia. My husband made it for me from old pallet wood, some time ago. I love it as it's so easy to change into anything you feel like making it. It's just a six sided frame basically.
I decided it needed a quick springlike makeover . Removed it's current Xmas clothes (can't find a picture of it wearing the Xmas stuff).
I added a Happy Spring sign (dollar store find) a small burlap bow, some tiny glass bead rope, some fake daffodils and a big green and white check ribbon, all from dollar store.

Afraid the glass bead rope doesn't show up on photographs but in the light the little beads sparkle.
Here it is back on the mantel making me smile and look forward to better weather, soon! Took me an hour to redo it.
Suggested materials:
  • Wood frame   (Free, made from pallet wood.)
  • Ribbon and glass bead rope.   (Michaels, already had in stash)
  • Spring sign and flowers   (Dollar store, total cost $4)

Love this! You could also get a vine of flowers and wrap it around the frame!

I love when you can make something beautiful with the things you already have :)
