This will give you ideas, not just for the holidays, but all year-round!!!
First I'm going to start with a Winter floral/tablescape that changes personality as we move along. Here are the basics to get us going...same tablecloth as always, faux floral stems, a new holiday table runner, holiday décor pieces, battery candles, and my silver vase...oh, and empty water bottles!
So everything's laid out on the table. I decide to go with a "White Christmas" theme and leave the reds for another project. You'll see why in a minute. Next, yes, another close-up of the silver vase...hmmm?
Yes, I Did!!! I squished empty water bottles inside of the silver vase to help hold the lack of flowers I had planned on having in it. These are the recycled kind from the store that squirt you when you open the bottle, so it was easy to fit them in. Also-Bonus: when I have fresh flowers, I won't have to fill the vase, just use the bottles!
Bouquet-Done! Now some fun! (My twinkle light video didn't download and also caused frustration, so it's out...this was ready before the holidays, but I had to walk away and breathe...;-)
I had a little fun with some red/white striped ribbon and striped candies. Added sparkly snowflakes, a couple of battery-operated candles, and a Joy ornament that fell off a previous project (oops!). And those twinkly lights all around the sheer ribbon...whimsical, but kind of romantic, now if I only had a guy...;->
...And then, someone mentioned on Hometalk about not having enough DIY Chanukah/menorah ideas. OK, SO-All of this is from things I had in my living room at the time. The 6 outside candles are in new solar light caps turned upside down (perfect fit!). The center candle is in...a water bottle!!! Yes, this bottle is the sturdy type (mine was Aquafina-again perfect fit!) I scrounged in my china cabinet and found 6 white-ish candles, used the 2 b/o candles at the ends, and one blue candle in the center. It takes up the whole table, but still...
The tall candles all had a blue/white wrapped Dove chocolate under their dome. The center candle was also sitting on top of a mirror base. There was silver ribbon and lights around the display.

Not familiar with all of the customs, I hope this was fun for you! And think of the ways we are going to recycle and reuse!!!
