Say Good-Bye to Dirty Bathrooms

Say good-bye to dirty bathrooms when you use this DIY homemade bathroom cleaner. If your family is anything like my family, you look for non-aerosol and eco-friendly ways to clean your bathroom. (Really, you just look for ways to clean your bathroom as efficiently and quickly as possible.)
I do not look forward to cleaning the bathroom, but I do love having a clean bathroom. I'm also looking for ways to incorporate more eco-friendly cleaners, save money and do-it-myself.
Being frugal, doesn't mean you have to sacrifice quality. I literally love this cleaner and it's all I use in the bathroom (except sometimes I clean the inside of the toilet with bleach). Being frugal also doesn't mean you can't be eco-friendly! This homemade bathroom cleaner helps me to not only make my own cleaning products, save money and be eco-friendly, but it works great!
To start, fill a clean empty spray bottle half full with distilled white vinegar (any brand will do).
Fill remaining half of spray bottle with Dawn original dish soap. I haven't tried the other scents of Dawn. I typically stick to the original blue (which is certified environmentally safe) Dawn.
Gently shake the bottle to mix the dish soap and distilled white vinegar.
Then, spray the bathroom cleaner solution on your tub, shower, sink and wipe clean with a damp cloth. Vinegar does have a "smell". The good news is that it evaporates within a couple hours. You can also add a few drops of essential oil if the smell really bothers you.
An added bonus for using vinegar in the bathroom is that it's a natural remedy for mildew. Spraying your shower, especially the caulking and mildew-proned areas with vinegar in between cleaning will help to keep the mildew from growing back, too!
Who knew that mixing vinegar and Dawn could render such amazing results? (Well, now you do!) This DIY bathroom cleaner literally costs less than $1.00 for a 16 ounce bottle and you can clean a lot of surfaces with 16 ounces!

This works well, thanks. I make a similar spray with equal parts bottled lemon juice and vinegar, and 3 big squirts of dishwashing liquid. It smells less strong, and I use it for just about everything, including killing ants.

Guess the acid in the vinegar and lemon juice kills the ants? Do you use squeezes lemons?
