Update Kitchen Cabinet Doors On A Dime!

We recently moved into my late-grandmother's house that we are renovating. The kitchen renovation isn't quite complete, but I could hardly wait to share the progress! I discovered that the original hardware is copper, so I decided to go with it. I trimmed out the doors to give them extra dimension. I LOVE how this small change along with a new paint job totally transformed this cottage kitchen!
The incredible before and almost after....I still need to build cabinet doors for the appliance garage where the wall oven was. For now a curtain is there.
Amazing copper hardware that I restored.
I trimmed out the kitchen cabinet doors with 1/4" plywood.
I love how bright and happy this space is now.

What kind of paint sprayer did you use on the cabinets. There are so many out there.

Have to redo my cabinets, how did you restore the hardware. Mine used to be copper (1955) now it is black. Thx u, you did an amazing job. So far I have painted and lined the inside of my cabinets, next the outside.

Recently painted and cleaned our old kitchen cabinets and hardware. House was built in 1955, hardware was painted black, copper underneath the paint, I read a post which I can't find now...they put the hardware in boiling water and that removes the paint. We even had copper screws. Some steel wool polishing and the hardware looks beautiful. Hope this helps you.

Love your new looking cabinets and hardware. Who would of known underneath the black hinges were beautiful copper. We found out the hard way. I cleaned our hardware, painted inside cabinets and lined. Husband is painting outside cabinets. This makeover all started with wanting to replace old plastic inserts which we had on a few cabinets. So much fun to fix things up, I don't want to stop. Thank you everyone for your great ideas.
