DIY Faux Metal Star Lantern

Do you love rusty "metal" star lanterns? Today we are making one, without using any metal!
It is so easy and beginner friendly. Can you guess what it is made of?
Here's the secret..... card stock! I will link to my favorite card stock and the free template for this star lantern at the end.
Print and cut out the templates of the base structure and the pointed tips of the star with rusty texture. You can use a Silhouette cutting machine or an Xacto knife. If the tiny stars are too time consuming, use a hole punch and punch out small circles.
Make all the star tips. Glue on all but one of the star tips. See why in the next step
The reason we leave one of the tips not glued is because we need a "doorway" to take lights in and out. So we only glue one side of the tab, like in photo above.

Thread a piece of clear fishing line or bead cord through. Tie a knot to close the star.
