DIY Stencil Serving Tray
Use Scrap wood or Cedar fence boards to create this DIY serving tray. Wait till you see the finished product.
Finally time to make something fun for the home. I used scrap wood and parts of a cedar fence board. If you were going to build this from new wood you can do this with a 6 or 8 foot fence board.
The first thing was to sand, I used sandpaper by hand and then turned up the volume with the electric sander.
The next step was to stain with paint. This is an awesome technique and I have a fun tutorial on my blog for complete details under projects. Make sure to check it out.
Once everything dried it was time to include a message this is where I used inexpensive waverly letters from Walmart. At this point things seems to be falling into place.
When the stenciling was dry I connected the tray using finishing nails from each side. This was really easy and I recommend drilling pilot holes first to keep the wood from splitting.
Before I could say the tray was complete I added handles that really set everything off and now I have a fun tray for serving whatever special treat desired.
This was a really easy project and rather inexpensive especially if you already have some of these supplies. Get creative and have fun with it!
