These boxes are handy little containers that close well and can be stored from several positions since they're flat and uniform in size. I'd put my collection standing up in an attractive empty tissue box, rather than deal with cascading and tumbling boxes. (To each his own)! : )

I put my sewing machine feet in a clear tackle box it is about one inch deep, it has moveable dividers and my sewing machine tools go in there too. I use a scrapbook paper clear one for all my scissors and rotary cutters the scissors are kept in the boxes they come in to keep everybody separate. I also leave out crappy scissors on my machine so people use them instead of my good ones. Don't tell my family or friends they have no idea and they always apologize.

I am a big fan of baby food jars, and for smaller items, I bought a big stack of tiny tins with clear lids for a couple of bucks. Magnets glued to the back allow me to store things on a metal sheet affixed to the door of my armoire

That is a great idea! I prefer to be able to see what I have so I opt for clear containers....baby food jars, sandwich meat containers (which stack really well) For little embellishments, I use the bottom of an egg crate and stack them on top of each other and store in a coke box (the ones that the bottles come in) for easy transport.

I love using them for emergency car kits. Bandaids, needle & thread, p38 can openers, sterile wipe packets, safety pins, etc.

I painted a bunch of them , glued on ribbon and a tiny bow. Filled them with candy from see's and gave them to co-workers and added some to the kids Christmas Stockings

Altoid tins fit nicely standing on end in an empty Velveeta box. Just label the ends rather than the sides.
