Tip: Yes, I painted my bathroom PURPLE!

I think I scared my husband when I picked out the color "cosmic," which was really a mild purple. The artist in me wants to say deep lavender. Still, the color really popped purple when it hit the walls. To tone it down a bit I added grey rugs and painted the cabinets white. This kind of shifted the purple from in-your-face to a pleasant swash of color.
Yay! I have a purple bathroom!

Before the husband packs, you can always stencil paint over it leaving just a bit of your 'cosmic' vision in the baackground. ;)

Good for you, life ends to quickly to not enjoy your space. The color sounds very elegant and grey must really make it look even classier. The only thing is I would stay away from gold with grey.

My husband has everything white or light blue so I was shocked when he did a light purple for our bath. Shower is grey marble with a black marble counter and white sink and toilet. It's a beautiful color.

Purple is one of my favorite colors ! Your bathroom sounds awesome ! I would love to see pics as well.
I've had purple in both living room and bathroom at one time or another. The living room was done in shades of a dusty purple and olive green (they're great complements to each other -- opposite on the color wheel) and the bath was done only with purple accents (the same dusty shade) in shower curtain, rugs and towels. As a renter, I've never been able to paint the walls purple, but I would if I could !! lol
