With Valentine’s Day around the corner, I'm sharing how to DIY these heart-shaped moss wreaths from dollar-store items. Whether you decorate for Valentine’s day or not, this could easily blend with other seasonal decor by just switching out the ribbon and it does not scream “Valentine’s”. I like the simpler side of Valentine decor?
I found my two different red wreaths at the Dollar Store. Not exactly my style, but they were just the two right shapes I was looking for.

I’m starting with the larger wreath. This wreath is perfect for this project. Once I removed all the red razzle-dazzle, there was actually a plastic form hidden!
It actually took only a few minutes to remove the red plastic. I simply snipped it at one end and it easily unwound.
This is how the wreath looked like after everything was removed. A perfect heart-shaped form.
Now start filling the form with your green moss. Break up your moss in pieces. My bag of moss had a mixture of the greener moss and the drier spaghum moss. I wanted a greener wreath so I used up the drier moss on the underside by just simply gluing the pieces of moss around the wreath with a glue gun.
When that seemed full, I turned it over and glued the greener moss around, filling in any empty spots.
For the second smaller wreath, I left the form as is and just glued the moss right over the red velvet.
After you are finished gluing the moss, remove any excess dried glue and tie a pretty pink ribbon. I used blanket binding. Blanket binding has a fold so the bow will hold up better than regular ribbon.
I added a few pink and white accessories and created this cute little vignette.

Very, very pretty!! I would like to make these hearts but real moss picked outside fades very quickly. I would see what else could work that's treated and preserved. Thanks for the idea!!

You can buy moss at the Dollar Tree. It doesnt fade. She used store bought moss for this project also. Hope this helps!
