Kind of plain ..Have gone with some orange/peach shower curtain and turtle pic. I racked up these small pallets. Should I take them down, paint them or cover them in fabric?

Paint them!!! You have such pretty colors in the room already, pick up on those colors, I love it!

I think I would make a sliding barn door out of them, and get rid of the curtain altogether. The doors could be closed when needed, as when showering, and just left open most of the time. That white rod is too much of a contrast with the wood boards. I can see the edge of a mirror in one pic -- I assume the vanity is the same ? So I can see why you matched the pallets to the rest of the wood in the room. I think if you want to leave the curtain, change the rod, and also your shower curtain hooks -- to something that blends in better with the rest of your decor -- would make a big difference.

yes to all of the above plus fix that lonely towel hanging there by the toilet tissue. Bring your colors into the room with a coordinating set hung neatly (as you would see in a hotel room) for decor only. Then you can leave a hand towel near the sink area for hands only to take care of that part of the decor. The lace window curtains are competing with everything and too much for the window Simple roman shade or opaque shade would be nice.

I would keep the Pallet Shutters ( and maybe paint them) and remove the Curtains altogether, and put up an inexpensive , decorative window film, maybe in a Stained Glass Pattern. And paint all the trim in the Bathroom. I would accentuate that Window!

I love the sliding barn door idea. I too think the curtains should be removed and just enjoy the beauty of the pallet shutters. If you want to keep the curtains, remove the generic u shaped curtain rod and use a decorative straight rod that mounts with brackets. Maybe one with finials on the ends that match the theme of the bathroom.

The lace curtain is fighting your tailored shower curtain. , and the curtain rod over your wood panels goes. Paint the pallets white. Underneath, on a spring rod inside the window, a spring rod with a single cafe-length (same or shorter than wood) pulled flattish. I think I'd stay with the white since you've got great colors in your shower curtain, painting and towels.
Please, please raise your turtle painting at least 5 inches..it's too interesting to put something over it and too low as it is.

Patty's idea is great. I would also consider making the pallet wood look beachy gray by weathering/distressing it. There are lots of posts describing techniques for this on Hometalk!
