From Dark Doors to Light Doors With Paper.

After a little accident with one of my doors (I fell through it with the ladder) I was searching for a solution to , and plug the holes in that door and give all the doors a facelift. I have 4 doors coming out in my living room. I don't have a hallway.
The doors are all a bit battered up so sanding them down and paint would not help a lot.
I decided to put wallpaper on it.
On the right door you see where I fell through with the ladder. I put moist journal paper in the 2 holes to plug most of it, after drying I finished off with wood paste. Then sanded those 2 spots down until there were fairy flat.
For 4 doors I needed 2 rolls of paper (13 euros each), a pot of Neoprène glue 750 ml which I used for 3/4 (15 euros) , an old brush to glue in the doors, a screwdriver to unscrew the handles and moulding (39 euros).
I choose for a paper that had some wood nerves in it. If I want to paint afterwards, I will have a nice texture.
I measured the door : 73 cm width and 2m high. My roll of paper is 53,5 cm width. So I have to cut pieces of 10 cm to cover the rest of the door.
I started with the verticals left and right
Then, between them the horizontals (with the wood nerves horizontal)
Then filled it up the rest with the paper as width as I bought it.
Looks better already
I glued the moulding on with the same glue and put the handles back on.
When the doors become dirty I will paint everything in white. For now I am happy with it.

And door number 4

Since the doors were a dark color, was wallpaper also placed on the door sides?

Wondering what width you cut for the sides and horizontal pieces? Does is look better to do it this way than just covering the whole door with the whole piece of wallpaper?

Where did you get the moulding and what size did you buy (width).

I am inspired! I manage/managed a property for my parents that has damaged doors. To add insult to my injury, the tenant there is living rent-free because of this and faulty carpet(s). Yes, her days are numbered. Hey, let me do a carpet hack for all of you soon?!
