Hello! How would you cover this window? I don't want anything to take away from the crown molding... There also isn't a whole lot of space between the crown molding and ceiling.icon

First depends on how much light you want or need, whether privacy is an issue and expense.

If all three look into shade or blind that rolls up from the bottom and many are with remote.

This would be a wonderful window for full shutters that you can fold back. Or solar shades so you can see out.

You might consider suspending from the outside of the cornice the thin wire that curtains can be hung from, I got one from Ikea to hang muslin curtains to make a large closet behind my bed. Here's the link for a picture: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60075295/.

Its easy to pull the curtains back for viewing the scenery, or closing for privacy. Besides the wire & support you have to buy clips, but is a cost effective solution!

Like some one else said it's going to depend on what you want as far as privacy light etc. You could put curtains at the level of the second section of squares on the windows, leaving the top open for light.

A folding screen in front of the window. Lots of options, I like the folding shutters I'd look for something divided so you could close the bottom and partially close the top or leave them open etc. We had wooden thick shutters in one house. They were very bulky even when open. I would hope that these days there are more options.

I would leave the window without curtains or shades and get a folding dressing screen to put in front of it to block it in the day or night.

Chelsea, I agreed with Hillela above. What is the saying written on the wall? I can't read it. Thanks!

I have four picture windows and a door in my living room. We purchased the blinds that can go up or down. This way the windows can be covered part way from the bottom up for privacy and put all the way up to the top of the window during the day to let in sunshine. We've had them for about five years and love them.

I had the same problem-I bought some blinds that go down only--but-first the privacy section goes down first--then for the next step-other strings (2 sides of strings) bring down the lace - see thru-semi privacy-nice look--I love them!!! Sooo, I can have privacy, semi privacy or no privacy and sun!

Good luck with whatever you decide~

frosted glass contact paper is an inexpensive idea that will still allow light but insures privacy and takes up no extra room

I love plantation shutters to control light and privacy. They are beautiful.

I use sheers, so nobody can see inside, you still get light in the room, and you can see the image of movement outside.

If the windows dont face a street. leave them alone. Nice feature in a room with such heavy looking furniture. Also the up down shades are the best. My daughter has very large windows in her house and she placed them on all the windows facing street . Come in light weight and heavier weight fabric. You decide what look you want.
