Christmas Crafts

This Christmas spray is made with communion cups and pampas grass stems. Thoroughly shake the "fluff" from the ends of the stems. Gather several stems together and wrap them securely with red yarn, beginning at the cut end of the stem. Secure the yarn around the stems just above the beginning of the curled ends. Trim the stems evenly across the top. To prepare the communion cups, drill a small hole in the bottom of the cup. Paint the INSIDE of the cup white. Dry thoroughly. Using a tiny craft brush (or perhaps even the tip of a wooden tooth pick) , paint holly and berry patterns on the OUTSIDE of the communion cup. Cut several inches of the red yarn and knot one end. Using a needle, feed the unknotted end through the hole in the cup from the inside. The knot should be large enough to remain inside the cup. Anchor the unknotted end of this yarn to the yarn at the base of the stems. Repeat with several communion cups if desired. Attach a red bow over the yarn where the cups are attached. Attach fishing cord to the wrapped yarn for an invisible method of hanging your decoration at Christmas. This has lasted well. It is at least 30 years old.
