Pallet Cabinets

The unusable corner in my kitchen has a purpose again! Thanks to pallets. Free pallets I might add. Pallets are deliciously wonderful but there is a high cost to free wood, isn't there?
Although pallets are usually free, there is some effort in taking them apart but in the end it is worth it!
I know, I know! This setup did nothing for organization or peace of mind! But with a little bit of imagination... and pallets of course... this mess was all about to change. If you would like to read about my 7 steps to creating pallet creations for the home, click the link below.
This wonderful new cabinet holds my cook books, *some* of my canning and miscellaneous items that don't fit anywhere else!

I measured specifically for the areas on both sides of our fridge. I built two frames to fit each site of the fridge and used pallets for the shelving and the doors. It is open on the back and sides.
It even has two usable drawers, because it's imperative to have a junk drawer! These were made from 4 pallets screwed together, with the bottom being a sheet of plywood.

And there you have it! Much better, isn't it? And of course, when working on a project like this, it is so important to look for the boards with the most character and plan out how you want it to look before you screw anything together.

And always keep in mind that using old pallet boards may make some things a bit tricky as they are usually warped (and filled with character!).
