DIY Gold Dotted Servingware-- in Under 5 Minutes!

Did you know you can use a Sharpie to glam up your holiday decor? I used a $3 thrift store teapot and added gold dots and chevrons to give it some sparkle. Just be sure to keep the marker at least 1" from any area that will come in contact with food or your mouth. Read on for more details!
This gold dotted (and chevron handled) teapot was decorated in under 5 minutes!
It all started with a $3 plain teapot from the thrift store, but you can do this with any servingware. Check out thrift stores, IKEA, and HomeGoods for plain teapots or platters.
Sharpie comes in metallic colors like gold, silver and bronze. Choose your favorite metallic!
Start by adding a ring of gold dots around the top. Remember not to put marker within an inch of where it will come into contact with food or your mouth.
Then, I added more gold dots and made them less frequent as I went downward. I also colored in the top knob and added arrows (chevrons) down the handle.
Now this teapot shines amidst my other pieces. If you do wash it do so gently by hand. Check out the blog for more photos and ideas! http://makinglemonadeblog.com/christmas-decor-ideas-diy-gold-servingware-sharpies/
