It's probably the rubber feet more than the weight of the mixer. Just put the mixer on a metal or plastic tray and it will slide easily.

I have my coffee maker on a plastic tray to make it easier to pull out from under the top cabinet to fill. Just pull it out, then slide back. Easy peasy.

I have mine on a small kitchen towel, makes it easy to slide out from under the cabinet to use.

We found a large ceramic tile at our Habitat ReStore...put felt pads on the bottom of the tile...it slides effortlessly with weight on it and doesn't scar or scratch up our concrete countertop!! Works like a charm and I believe it cost us about $1 total!!!

Keep it simple...just stick on felt or wool pads which are made for furniture feet on hardwood floors

I agree with Wynne. I have mine on felt pads and it works perfectly. I now do have slide out drawers but they need to have weight evenly distributed so basically it would be the only thing on shelf. I used to have to have mine on counter but now I have it placed in a bottom cabinet and at this point I can still lift up but soon will have to have on counter or I won't be able to move it on my own. I say try felt or towel as suggested you may want to try towel first since you must have one handy. I wouldn't place on any tray unless it was covered on bottom with felt so as to not ruin countertop. I like my little pads so I can slide around and clean under it and yes stuff gets under there.

I had the same issue. I applied small round fuzzy floor protectors underneath. My mixer has 5 round rubber legs. I placed one close to size floor protector on each and it works like a charm. Slides in and out of the corner easily.

Do you have room for a cart? That way, you can leave it on the cart, and not move it all the time. Think about this, ok?

at an office furniture store i found some silicon coated pads for chair legs. those might work with the mixer.

I use small plastic furniture sliders over the feet. I've used these on other small appliances and they work well; they also don't absorb water/moisture that may be on the counter top.

I put mine on a cutting board. Slides very easy!

I took a large clear glass cutting board, added felt pads to the bottom of it, and it works like a charm. The clear glass cutting board does not cover up my beautiful granite counter top and I am able to pull my KitchenAid hand mixer from the corner with ease.
