Gather your supplies outdoors so you don't make a mess indoors while you are planting.
Mix soil and worm castings in your mixing can.
Add a layer of rocks to the bottom of each pot to help create good drainage. Then add your soil in to about an inch below the pot's lip.
Make room in the soil for the roots of the plants and then fill in the hole with more soil around each plant pressing firmly to expel any air trapped around the roots. Be sure to give your new herb container garden a good watering to help the roots take hold and then find a sunny spot indoors near a window for your pots. Don't forget to make sure there is a pot try underneath each pot (if it is not already built in) to prevent any water leakage. Growing your kitchen herb garden indoors has incredible convenience and practicality to offer, in addition to the savings, and the fresh flavors. It is so sensible and so practical, you are going to love it! Bonus benefits include have plants to filter your indoor air for you and just being plain pretty!
