You know what the best thing is about being able to build things yourself? Well, there's two. First, you can save gobs of money. Second, it makes gift giving pretty easy! My mom needed to get rid of her old coffee table, so I decided I would make this one for her as her birthday present!
The first step was to build the base with 1x6s. Then adding the columns and supports for the top.
The top is made from 2x6 pine boards. This was a relatively easy project to do...and it's a massive coffee table!
For the color, I used MinWax Dark Walnut and white stain from DecoArt. You can see the full tutorial on the color mix on my blog
This turned out better than I could have imagined! This is a knock off of Restoration Hardware's coffee table the runs for thousands.
The full size of this is 55" by 33" and it's heavy. It's built to last! You can find the link to where to buy the columns and the tutorial on my blog! http://www.thriftyandchic.com/2016/11/diy-balustrade-farmhouse-coffee-table.html
