Cat Playhouse

Well....I love boxes. I may be part Cat. I break them down and put them behind the couch. You never know when you will need a 'good' box! This box really needed to be 'made' into something wonderful. It was calling out to me to not break it down and the cat was crawling inside and out of it so I answered the calling. Just to make a note....This is not finished. It needs to be painted. Little Mister has decided that he no longer likes this box. He has shown some interest, but not enough. Once he does I will paint this and it will look much better. All-in-All, a fun way to give your cat a place to play and hide (if they need it).
I bought a new chair for my computer and the box was just great to turn in to a play house for my cat. Complete with a deshedding doorway. Please remember that this is not finished, once painted and pretend curtains are added, this will be cute.
The first thing that I did was to add some folded cardboard to the top of the box. My cat is a bit hefty and I wanted it to be strong enough to hold his weight if he decided to use the top to lay upon or enter. I used the separating cardboard that came with the chair. Just cut the holes where you think your cat or dog, may like a window. I made the windows smaller than the entry hole on the top.
There are 'windows' on all sides, with the entry hole on the top and bottom right. Lots of ventilation. The bottom right entry I expanded later to include a deshedder.
There we are, deshedder and all. I used three toilet brushes from the Dollar Tree to make this. Used Gorilla Glue to fasten them. Sadly, my little man has not shown much interest (the reason I have not purchased paint to finish this project). I added a pillow and lots of Cat Nip and from time to time he is starts to go inside without, WITHOUT me having to bribe him. When he starts to use this regularly I will then paint it for him, if not, I will put it to the curb with a FREE sign on it for anyone to take.

Thank you. I have seen a few, since making mine that have peaked roofs and construction paper shingles, but I don't think that I want to go that far....YET! LOL
