That's exactly how the package says to remove it and the package also says it would never leave a mark on your walls well I beg to differ with you it didn't leave mark but it took off the paint down to the bare walls the one I removed took the paint down to the PINK paint color which I NEVER PAINTED ON THE WALLS MUST OF BEEN THE ORIGINAL COLOR FROM THE 50's...had to touch up that area....
