How-To Make Your Old Linoleum Floor Shine Like New
The linoleum floor in my kitchen and dining room is original to the house and is over 40 years old. Even though the linoleum pattern is dated the floor shines like new thanks to a few simple tricks I've learned along the way.
The floor is the pretty basic 1970's shades of brown. While it doesn't go with the rest of the kitchen, it's what I have and I've grown somewhat fond of it and as long as I have it, I might as well make it shine. The above is the before. Before I start the process to get the floor to shine I always like to start with a very clean floor.
First, I sweep it thoroughly with a rubber broom. If you don't have a rubber broom I highly recommend you get one. They pick up dirt so much better than a regular broom. I even shared tips on the blog for how to pick up pine needles with one. I didn't even to pull out my vacuum to clean up after the tree...but I digress.

After sweeping the floor I take a few other steps including washing and rinsing the floor and allowing it to dry thoroughly before I use my secret weapon to get a shine that is nothing short of amazing.
