Tip safety first.
One day I was putting up shelves in my craft shed. The tables that were in there were fully loaded with craft.
I put my hand drill on the small area of table that was free, so I could screw in the screw for the shelf, I managed to knock into the table that the drill was on and it then rolled off the table and wedged upright with the drill piece going through my toe. I had no phone with me.So I had a painful and akward walk down the garden path until I reached the gate, I had to hammer on the gate to alert my elderly neighbour then i had to go to hospital to have the drill removed.
Moral of story. Prepare your space, take a phone with you. Better still get someone else to do the work.

Oh, so sorry that happened to you. I've gotten a few wounds working at home, especially.

Glad you are okay!!! Comment regarding safety and otherwise..Friend was having heart attack. {always in good health} Wife was shopping with friend. He always had his cell phone with him not this time as had gone to his shed to check new puppies. Had to crawl to the house and up some stairs to get to phone. { house was approx. 60 ft away}. Called 911 and passed out. moral of story, in todays world, keep cell phone handy. I learned as working on some acreage and had altercation with momma pit bull who had just had babies in barn. she attacked my leg and didn't go through boot... Oh! friend is fine now, but tough going..Have a safe, but fun year!!!!

My husband & I love dogs, but after an attack by a strange dog, we both carry a small Attwood signal horn. It fits easily in a pocket, and it says on the container that it can be heard 40 ft. away. We've used it several times with great success when we were approached by an aggressive dog when walking. It makes a really loud noise and every time, the dogs turned and ran away. These signal horns are very inexpensive at Walmart, & they also sell larger/louder ones, too.
