Noise from the other side :(

There are 2 quick fixes that will absorb the sound:

1. Line the wall with bookcases

2. add carpets and furniture to the room

They will both absorb the sound and you likely already have them in the house.

An off the wall thought is to fill the walls between the studs with Vermiculite. It will require drilling a hole in each section pouring in the vermiculite then repairing the wall. Hanging wall hangings. Don't let whatever you use to touch the wall. Sound is transmitted via vibration. Whatever touches the wall will continue the vibrations. A dead air space is a good thing.

Do you rent or own? That would make a lot of difference in how you solve the problem. Even renting you can build a sound baffle. Do a rough frame with 2x2s, nail/glue foam board insulation on top of that (the 2x2s are the dead air spacer), tape the seams, and drape with fabric.. The best part is you can easily take it apart and take it with you.

rugs or any type of material for wal hanging helps to muffle noise. quilts are beautiful to.hang on walls. you could put an assortment of tabble runners, attach some together make it a seasonal thing or a holiday motif.
