Never Pay Retail for Throw Pillows! DIY Your Own!

I love throw pillows, but don't love their high price tags in stores. Instead of going without throw pillows, I DIY my own. The easiest way I have found to do this is finding great place mats on clearance at stores like Target and turning them into throw pillows. You just have to take some of the seam out, stuff it with poly fill and then sew the seam back up. Instant throw pillows for next to nothing. I also like to customize them and buy plain colored place mats to paint letters and numbers on them.

Since it is healthy to change bed pillows often, I buy throw pillow covers covers and fill them with my old bed pillow foam , poly, feathers, whatever is inside. Just another recycle tip.

Great idea! Sometimes when pillows go on sale, or I find clean ones at a yard sale; rather then buy pillow forms.....I make covers over pillows that aren't my colors but are usable.
