You can buy rolls of privacy film that adhere to the windows in Home Improvement stores.
You can try using privacy film. It's like contact paper. They have beautiful designs on Wal-Mart.com and Amazon. Your window can look like stained glass!
Frosted contact paper makes a great privacy film and lets light in
I like the contact film ideas but I have another suggestion. Take white tissue paper and scrunch it up so it is uneven and adhere it to the window with a mix of white glue (like Elmers) and apply on top of The scrunched paper. Easy to remove if you don't like. Also easy to remove some pieces like a design.
You can cover in contact paper, and here's a similar discussion with even more advice http://www.hometalk.com/diy/bathroom/q-bathroom-window-privacy-8277583
Bathroom window privacy
I bought a beautiful bamboo design privacy film at Home Depot. They have several designs available and it was hard to decide. It's not adhesive....it works just like holiday window clings. Very easy to apply!
Thank you so much for your responses! You've given me some great ideas.
Remove glass and replace with any number of opaque refracting glass panes. Rain glass is my favorite, you see it in those nice walk-in showers. Several other textures are available. You can see these at any glass place, like PPG, ....... or a custom shower door seller
Simply cut a plastic shower curtain to match your decor, install a spring extension rod, add curtain hooks and voila...you have privacy with the option to open and close the curtain, enjoy the sun and stars, your choice.
i've done the shower curtain thing in my 1st 50's fixer wich also had a window in the shower. velcrow it in place over the window- allow extra on all sides for covering the frame of the window. when i did the curtain rod thing it stuck out to far and the window frame stared to rust, the curtain rod also rusted.. yup rust.
