I love homemade, wood toolboxes. I pick them up whenever I see them at yard sales, thrift stores and Restore. I have used them for so many things; from art room caddys to planters. This time, I wanted to try something different. I flipped this toolbox on its side and it became craft storage!
The first thing I did to make this toolbox over was give it some new paint. I started with {afilink} "Homestead Blue" from Fusion Mineral Paint .
Once the blue paint dried, I went over the entire toolbox with {afilink} "Picket Fence" from Fusion Mineral Paint . I didn't cover it perfectly with the white paint because I wanted to sand it anyway to make it look more weathered.
Once the white paint dried, I used sandpaper to rough up the paint a bit and have the blue paint show through the white. I left the inside of the toolbox blue.
To make it craft storage, I turned it on its side and hung it on the wall. I also added a piece of scrap wood and a wood dowel in the bottom compartment to hold washi tape.
This Wood Vintage Toolbox Turned Craft Storage is perfect for smaller craft supplies. Hanging it on the wall keeps it within reach without taking up space when you want to spread out and create!
