DIY Pallet Wood Entry Bench With Shoe Storage

One size does NOT fit all. Especially when it comes to an entryway bench. Everyone's entry is different. My house doesn't have a foyer, but there is a small space inside of the front door that was begging for some type of entryway bench. A place to quickly hang a coat, scarf, and bag. A place to sit to put on or take off shoes would be nice too. And how about some storage too.

Sounds like a DIY project to me!!!
I got my hands on a box pallet wood. It's call Pallet Wall In a Box. It's new wood made to look and work like pallet wood. Of course real pallet wood would work too!
I wanted my pallet wood to look old and have some character.
By using three different colors of milk paint, I got just the look I was going for.
While the pallet wood was drying, I got to work making the base of the bench. I used 2" x 4"s and 1" x 6"s to make the bench frame.
Then I attached the painted pallets to the top and sides of the bench frame. I also nailed the pallet boards to the wall behind the bench.
A basket slides under the bench for convenient shoe storage.
These old-fashioned wire hooks were the perfect finishing touch that I added the top pallet board. Now I have a pretty, farmhouse-looking entryway bench that is custom made for the size of my entry.
