DIY Birdhouse Wreath Decor

I am not a huge fan of flowery wreaths, but I love adding something festive to our front door through the different seasons and holidays. I also have a love of putting our scrap wood pile to use for different projects. This spring, we made a rustic birdhouse for the front door to welcome spring. The best part.... you can make it in 30 minutes or less!

To start the project, I searched through our scrap wood pile and found some barn wood scraps and trim pieces that we could use for the birdhouse.

We cut the roof for the birdhouse and then cut the scrap trim to attach to the top of the barn wood birdhouse.

To attach the trim, we used a {afilink} nail gun .

We had some extra wood dowels left over from previous projects that we cut down and used as the perch.

Last, we used a 1" drill bit to cut out the hole for the birdhouse. That's it! The project was so easy that we made another birdhouse to hang in our entry. The picture below is actually the second birdhouse we made. We cut up a log from our back yard for the roof and bottom of the birdhouse and used a stick for the perch.
