Copper Easter Wreath

Well, the wreath is only spray-painted copper, but it is whimsical and precious! Paper bunnies, copper button tails... what's not to love?
I began by spray-painting a grapevine wreath with a metallic copper color.
Next I made these paper bunnies. Using a paper bunny template (cut from a piece of computer paper), I cut bunny shapes from decorative paper. (I love the French provincial feel of some of the patterns.) Tip: cut each bunny from 2 pieces of decorative paper placed with back sides together
Next, I stitched each bunny together, leaving the bottom edge open, using a long basting stitch on my sewing machine.
I stuffed each bunny with 2 loosely crumpled paper napkins (cotton balls would work nicely, too). I then stitched the bottom closed, added a ribbon and a button “tail.”
Lastly, I covered the wreath holder with a French market style ribbon to compliment the provincial patterned paper. And that’s it for me. The rest is up to the Easter bunny.
And by the way, the wreath also looks sweet on a black door!
