How To Make A Faux Wood Wall Clock

Like so many of you, I love to decorate in a farmhouse style. The look of shiplap that is so popular now is one of my most favorite looks. I wanted to create a large wall clock to fit in with the farmhouse style. I have seen several large round wood clocks that I liked but they were very expensive, so I decided to make my own. Here is what I used:
I picked up a large round piece of wood at the home supply store for under $10! This beautiful wallpaper was the perfect piece to use on the wood. It came together in no time with wallpaper glue. You can also use ModPodge. For the numbers I used a stencil in an antique graphic along with brown acrylic paint. The clock mechanism was purchased at the home store with a 40% off coupon. Here is the finished clock.
I am seriously in love with it. You do not know it's not wood until you get up close and touch it. The texture is just perfect for the farmhouse look I was going for at a fraction of the cost in the home stores. Check out 4 other ways that I use this same wallpaper in my post below. Here is a picture of other projects that I hope you will love as much as I do!
The below picture shows how I created a wainscoting technique with the same wallpaper and molding. It completely changes the look of the staircase and really gives it a custom feel. This may be one of my favorite projects to date. It came together surprisingly quick and was very easy to do. You can have the trim cut at the home store to save time.
