Coffee Table/chest Makeover

Our niece had given us this table as she really didn't want to throw it out and figured her uncle could save it. Her dog, when it was a pup thought eating the corners off was fun and tasty.
Before after the hardware was already removed
After having it stored in our basement for the last 6 months he finally decided he was ready to tackle the restoration. He removed the top and all the hardware. Since the top wasn't salvageable he decided to create something new.
He took a piece of osb plywood, some of you know it as chipboard, cutting it the size of the original top and made a design from boards off a pallet and trim pieces left from a previos project.
His finished design
The boards from the pallet he glued and nailed to the base. He then put a coat of stain over it.
He then sanded the chest part of the table and stained it to match the top. He only lightly sanded it because it was a close match already, it just needed some life restored to it. He painted the hardware, which was a rusty brown color to black.
The best part of this makeover is what he did to the top...he covered it with super glaze!
