Easter Door Hanger

Been looking around for some inspiration for an Easter Door Hanger. I was in a local thrift store and saw these chicks in a bin of old craft supplies, grabbed them cost all of $2.
I took them home and waited for an idea to surface. It came to me sooner than I thought it would. I had taken apart several pallets I had picked up from outside a local store, I went in and asked if I could take them, they were with the garbage. Store owners said no problem, so I loaded them in my car, took them home, cleaned them up and let them dry out.
So far I have managed to make several signs etc. from the two pallets and still have quite a few boards left.

I cut the boards to size, 12"x15" but you could make it any size, put a couple of boards across the back to stabilize then sanded the pieces to smooth them, with a small electric sander.

Once I had the sign pieced together I painted each board a different pastel colour, I dry brushed as I wanted the rustic effect, with the wood still showing. Once I had the paint coverage I liked, allowed it to dry for a couple of hours and then stencilled the letters on, attached the chicks with E 6000 glues, like that glue as it's weather proof, (smells awful) be sure to have a window open or good ventilation.

Cut a piece of wire to hang it with and glued on some foam flower shapes to add some extra interest. That's it, done. Total cost $2.00. I already had the paints and the wire and cut outs
