Little Brown Table Turned Magnifique!

A friend of mine called me (she is always looking for projects that I can re-do, because apparently I can not get in enough trouble on my own!) and said "would you like a cute little table for 10 bucks?" to which I replied "Well, I don't know , what's it look like?" She sends me a picture of a sad little brown table that needs some TLC. "It has a neat little feature, the table top turns all the way around!" she says (think lazy susan movement). I said " You had me at little table for 10 bucks!" LOL Of course I went and got it. The transformation .. well we're getting to that...
I forgot to get a full pic of the original table, but here you can see the original color and hardware. I am beginning the table top stripping process. I've used many products for stripping wood, but for this project I used Stripease.
Here are the original legs as they looked.
After stripping the old finish , I taped off the top (the edging would be painted to match the bottom of the table) and put on my favorite color stain which is a mixture of Expresso and Black stain.
Then I got out my handy dandy Americana Décor stencil (from Amazon) and stenciled over the stain in the same color I would then paint the rest of the table a homemade chalk paint that is a light grey. I then finished it off with 3 coats of satin wipe on poly.
Here you can see the table top finished with the paint, the distressing and the dark wax all completed and the new hardware installed. I distressed the piece just using a light touch and a fine grit sandpaper.
