Hi, I live in Danville and have planted an abundance of perennials in my gardens. Lilies, lantana, chrysanthemums, red hot pokers, butterfly bush, gardenia, jasmine, plumbago, elephant ears, iris, morning glory, primrose, blanket flower, celosia, to name just a few. Go online and Google our zone, 7b. There are tons of perennials that grow well here. Hope this helps!
