Free Wooden Easter Letters

2 Materials
What do you do when the wind is blowing hard and branches and twigs are everywhere?
You can throw them in the garbage or you can make something out of them. Wooden letters!

Step 1: Gather your supplies. In this case, collect twigs and branches that have blown down.

Step 2: Cut the large branch into disks. I cut each of the disks into approximately 3/4 inch wide. I did not measure them, just cut disks.

Step 3: I cut the smaller twigs into pieces that would spell out letters. I wanted my disks to spell out HAPPY EASTER.

I used a hand miter saw for some of the cuts, but the twigs broke easily. I placed the cut twigs on each disks to spell out the letters.

Step 4: Once I had all of the letters laid out. I took them inside to glue them.

Step 5: All of the letters have been glued to the disks. They did get a little jumbled up as I brought them inside. These looked great but I wanted a little more flair to them.

Step 6: I decided to paint each disk. I used some pastel colors: pink, orange, blue, yellow, green and purple.

At this point, I was going to drill a hole in them and hang them as a garland. However, I had just made my bunny garland and decide to just put them in a basket.
