Maybe you've done what I've done before- tried to "eye" a gallery wall and end up making too many holes in the wall or getting too frustrated to finish.

After updating my mid-century bathroom with a $300 DIY floor (FULL tutorial on my blog!) and a fresh coat of the perfect gray (info on my blog!), I needed to address that awkward blank space above the toilet.

I started by purchasing a plain poster board. It doesn't matter what color- just the cheap, flimsy poster board will work. This $1 secret weapon made the process a lot easier!
